About Us

Dr. Wayne M. Botts is the Bishop of Gethsemane God’s Garden of Prayer Church in Los Angeles, California and a Suffragan Bishop of the Central California District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. He has been happily married for 50+ years to First Lady, Joyce Botts. They have 5 sons, 5 daughters and 11 grandchildren. 

In 1974 Bishop Botts was baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost. That same year God called him into the ministry at St. John Apostolic Church in Los Angeles under his late pastor, Elder Prince E. Mitchell who was taught by the late Bishop William L. Smith of Bethlehem Temple Church of Los Angeles. 

Bishop Wayne Botts has attended both secular and biblical colleges. He attended the Ministerial Training Institute, founded by Dr. Johnny Young receiving his bachelor and master degree in biblical studies. He also attended the California University of Theology, under Chancellor, Dr. Robert T. Douglas Jr., where he received a Doctorate degree, and Aenon Bible College in Carson, California, where he received his Doctorate of Philosophy in Theology. 

Bishop Botts is a faithful servant and has a heart for God and His people. He is a humble dedicated servant to the work of the ministry. He has compassion for people, and wants them saved, and to understand the plan God has for them.  God has gifted him to cultivate a powerful space for raising up the next generation of leaders in the gospel.

Pastor Darnell Botts will step into the role of lead pastor at Gethsemane God’s Garden of Prayer Church in Los Angeles, in early 2026. Called by God and mentored by his father, Bishop Wayne Botts, who has faithfully led the church since 2001, Pastor Darnell will continue the legacy guiding souls to Christ.

He was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost in May 1998. At the age of 15, Darnell began playing keys and organ serving in the music ministry. In 2004, he answered God’s call to preach and teach and as a PK he’s served in many roles with passion and purpose for the kingdom. 

Pastor Darnell studied at Aenon Bible College in Carson, CA, and was ordained by the CCDC in 2025.

Pastor Darnell married Lady Shannon Botts in 2003. Together, they are the proud parents of David and Jasmine. Together, they are committed to God’s vision—leading Gethsemane into a new season of spiritual growth, community impact, and advancing God’s plan. 

May God’s wisdom and favor continue to guide them and the incredible Gethsemane Ministry team as they press forward claiming new territory for the kingdom.

Elder James Solomon III is an associate minister at Gethsemane God’s Garden of Prayer Church. The Los Angeles, CA native has served at his home church since its inception, under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Wayne M. Botts. He also serves as a youth leader, teacher, and musician. 

Pastor Solomon was baptized in Jesus’s name and filled with the Holy Ghost, and is committed to encouraging souls to seek Christ and His plan and purpose for their lives. 

He is the husband of one wife, Lakeisha Solomon, to which he has been married for twenty years. Together they have been blessed with four amazing children: Jayden, JaeLynn, Josiah and Jordyn. 

Pastor James accepted his call to the ministry in July of 2004. Since then he has been committed to assisting his Bishop and Pastor, serving the body of Christ, evangelizing, and doing whatever he can do support the body of Christ. God has gifted him with wisdom and discernment, which is evident in his lifestyle and ministry. He enjoys having conversations with people that lead to evangelism and a deepened understanding of God’s Word.
